What:       Families First is all about providing support to the whole family. In Blaenau Gwent the programme has two ‘Community Hub’ teams based in Blaina and Ebbw Vale which:

                 Work with your family to identify any areas that they can help with, Support you to decide how they can best support you and your family, Complete a request for services with you if you need some short term help, Discuss a JAFF (Joint Assessment Family Framework) with you if your support needs to come from a number of different services, Make sure these services work together to offer the best support for your family through a ‘Team Around the Family’

         

                 The programme also offers a range of support including: Managing children’s behaviour, Ante natal support, Coping with teenagers, Breastfeeding support and baby massage, Housing support needs, Debt and help with budgeting and money, Online counselling for under 25’s, Accredited courses

What:       The Mix is a UK based charity that provides free, confidential support for young people under 25 via online, social and mobile.

Whether you’re 13, 25, or any age in between, the Mix are there to take on the embarrassing problems, weird questions, and please-don’t-make-me-say-it-out-loud thoughts you have. Providing information and support for you to deal with it all.

They'll connect you to experts and your peers who’ll give you the support and tools you need to take on any challenge you’re facing – for everything from homelessness to finding a job, from money to mental health, from break-ups to drugs.

A free and confidential multi-channel service. That means that you choose how you access their support, without the worry of anyone else finding out. Whether it be through articles and video content online or their phone, email, peer to peer and counselling services – they'll put the control in your hands.
