Home Visit Requests

What if I require a home visit by the Doctor?

Patients are requested to contact the surgery before 10 am where possible to request a home visit. This allows the Doctors time to schedule their work plan for the day. You will need to give the patient's contact details including a contact telephone number. Home visits are reserved for housebound patients and at the Doctors discretion. Doctor will telephone first to ascertain whether a home visit is clinically necessary.

House calls are usually attended between the GP's morning and afternoon clinics, as this is not an emergency service should you be unable to wait or your condition deteriorates we would recommend attending A&E

You will always be asked to make every effort to attend Surgery as here the GP has the facilities and equipment to better treat you.

Lack of transport, childcare issues or other inconvenience to yourself is not a valid reason to request a home visit and we would insist in these instances that you would attend.

The same is for children, we will insist the responsible adult brings them to the Surgery and we will make every effort to see them as soon as possible, ensuring they are seen and treated soonest.
