Failed Appointments

Non-Attendance Policy

Appointments with the Doctors and Nurses of the Practice are very valuable for us to strive to provide a high standard of care, and even more so with the increase in demand during the pandemic.

We insist that 'IF YOU CAN'T KEEP IT, YOU CANCEL IT'

It couldn't be easier, ring 01495 722460/630 and cancel with the receptionist, pop into the practice, or register your mobile phone with us and as well as send you a text reminder of any appointments you can also text 'cancel' in response to the rmeinder and it will automatically remove your appointment.

We ask for your consideration when making appointments, that if you become aware for any reason that you are not going to be able to keep it you please give us a ring and cancel.

We try best to enforce this upon our patients by implementing our Non Attendance Policy.

First Missed Appointment

If you fail to attend/cancel an appointment for the first occasion we will send you a polite letter notifying you that you have missed your appointment. We would simply ask you to show some consideration for our tight appointment schedule at this point. It is also a gentle reminder as you may have simply overlooked your appointment and may still require a further one.

Second Missed Appointment

If you fail to attend/cancel an appointment on a second occasion we will again send you a letter but this time we would insist on your co-operation in adhering to our Non-Attendance Policy.

Third Missed Appointment

Failure to attend/cancel a third appointment will result in your removal from the Practice list. We will send you a letter asking you to seek services from another medical provider and we will notify the Shared Services Partnership of our intention to remove you from our Practice List.

We would always consider this as a last resort, but we have to insist on the co-operation of our patients otherwise the level of care we are able to provide is reduced in wasted appointments.

We are hopeful that our patients will appreciate that this policy has been put in place to provide a better service to all of our patients.
